About Me

Mid Coast Maine has been my home for the past thirty four years. My wife, Diane, and I moved to Camden and taught at Camden-Rockport High School and Camden Hills Regional High School for many years. Photography has always played a large part in my life. While living in Germany during the late 1960's, I studied the art of photography for two years learning the craft with the camera and in the darkroom. During my career in education I used my photography skills to enhance my classroom teaching. It was during the mid 1990's that I became interested in using my photography skills professionally. In 1996 I started Maine Image Photography and began shooting high school seniors and weddings. The name change to Dave Ridley Photography came in 2004.

Weddings and high school seniors continue to be a large part of my business and most recently family portraits as well as landscape photography have been added to make Dave Ridley Photography one of the most diverse photography businesses in Mid Coast Maine. I love to work with natural light portraiture in an outdoor setting. The soft light provides a unique quality that brings together all of the essential elements for a superior portrait. When the weather doesn't cooperate, my studio gives me the flexibility to move indoors to create exceptional studio portraits as well.

Currently, I am a member of the Maine Professional Photographers Association. Many of my portraits have been entered in competition and have received recognition for superior composition. Whether I am working in the Mid Coast or elsewhere, my goal is to produce photographs that are exceptional and inspiring. Contact me and let's discuss your special event.
